THE FOOD OF LOVE

This heartwarming and highly entertaining show is the creation of composer and pianist NIGEL HESS. The man behind Ladies in Lavender  and A Christmas Overture, Nigel was for several years house composer to the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare's Globe. 

The witty and delightful songs they commissioned are presented here with glorious music from stage and screen.

Nigel will be joined on stage by actors LESLEY NICOL (best known as Downton Abbey's Mrs Patmore) and RICHARD TEVERSON (The Crown) with fabulous vocalists MICHAEL DORE and ELEANOR GRANT.

THE FOOD OF LOVE celebrates all kinds of music inspired by the Swan of Avon - from Craig Armstrong's gorgeous Balcony Scene for the 1996 film of Romeo & Juliet and Stephen Warbeck's incidental music for Shakespeare in Love to immortal compositions by 

William Walton, Michael Kamen and Cole Porter.
